Great news for Sony fans. The Xperia XZ3 and XZ2 series of devices are currently receiving the Android 10 update. The new system upgrade is knocking into these devices with build number 52.1.A.0.532. If you use Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, or XZ2 Premium then you should now check for the new Android 10 update.

While Sony dropped the latest Android OS for its newer flagships first in late 2019. Now, the older flagships are also getting their share of the Android 10 upgrade. However, some users have complained that the recent Apps and new gesture navigation is not working after stepping up to the new Android OS. These features are still working as it would do on Android 9.0 Pie.

Generally, in Android 10 we have the new recent apps which we can scroll about horizontally. Also, there are new navigation gestures that allow swiping from the corner end of the display.  Maybe it’s some kind of bug that led to these feature getting missing on the update. We believe Sony may fix this bug as soon as they become aware of it.

Along with that, Android 10 comes with new features for location and privacy controls. Users can now set which apps can access their location and when. The messages app will now support spam filtering and smart reply options. You can check out the Important features of Android 10 to know more about the new system update.

If you have been waiting so far for the Android 10 update, then you should check your device now. OTA updates are automatic in nature. So, you should get a notification about the 52.1.A.0.532 system update. Otherwise, you can manually check for the same by going to the Settings app.

Go to Settings > System > Software Update. Check for the new update. The device will run a check and notify you whether the new system software is available or not. System updates are usually of large size. So, we recommend using a Wi-Fi network to swiftly download the update. Also, be mindful to have sufficient battery charge on your device before you kick off the installation process. A device with a low battery percentage will not allow you to perform a software upgrade.
